Applying Research

Posted By: Ronald Verdicchio on June 22, 2014
I have been engaged in a two year study of an urban community in northern New Jersey. Six of my field researchers and I coauthored an Arcadia publication: Image of America: Prospect Park. The publication content and photo essays are based upon our field research. The book chronicles through photos and text a century of cultural change. We chose a "common book" format so the residents past and present might re-discover their heritage. Had we written an ethnography it might, and I stress might, have been read by a scholarly audience. We have enjoyed local coverage of our work which has stimulated renewed interest in the cultural history of the borough. Our research exists.
