* Untested technologies

Posted By: Ellen Hoffman on January 31, 2014

Interesting concept, but why just apply it to digital technologies? We use books, handouts, and many other practices and materials that are untested. Rather than warnings, we need to make a case for better evaluating our practice in multiple ways, from teacher research to sufficient government funding for educational research to better understand what works, in what environments, and for which children. As faculty, we also need to do a better job of educating current and future educators in making better decisions about all technologies by using data rather than hype for decision-making.
