* Timely and Cogent Analysis

Hearty thanks to Alan Sadovnik for shedding light on the realities behind the charter school movement. Educators have a regrettable reputation for moving ahead with this or that without sufficient research evidence, and the rush to expand the number of charter schools shows how policy-makers earn this reputation as well. It comes down to this: if policy makers like an idea, it's full steam ahead; if they don't, then the idea lacks sufficient evidence. Hypocrisy rarely comes so unalloyed.
