Obama Effect

Posted By: Donna Farren on October 4, 2013
I am left wondering after reading your paper if Obama had not become President and the hip-hop students did not relate to him, if bringing the elements of hip-hop alone would had been enough to spark their interest in science. It seems to me Obama's role had more to do with their interest, than the adaptation of hip-hop elements. After Obama leaves office, how do we keep urban youth engaged? How do we continue to make science - or education in general - relevant?
