Teacher Learning and Agency

|This article is particularly important as we engage in defining a new role for teacher evaluation. Teachers have been evaluated by administrators who generally evaluate based on their own beliefs on what is "good" teaching. The conformity script-driven "curriculum" produced a culture where conformity was more important than the results. This was "good" teaching no matter who you students were or whether the scripted program was effective. |
Teachers cannot be responsible for the result until they have agency to make choices.
