Read a Post for School Reform: The Flatworm in a Flat World: From Entropy to Renewal through Indigenous Invention | | Reply to this Post | | Missing info | Posted By: Allen Lambert on February 11, 2011 | | An interesting article. But it suffers from having as the central concept a metaphor from physics and chemistry. There is no explanation of what entropy is or how to translate the physical concept into social analysis. For expl, what are the social, cultural, and psychological equivalents of energy? And what are the social organizational equivalents of heat sinks? What are the waste by products of the kind of "energy" inputs and through-puts in organizations and institutions? Etc.
And there are no references which come from any literature which develops the concept of entropy, either in physical sciences or social sciences.
