Online Courses

Posted By: Evelyn Graham on July 12, 2007

I have had the priviledge of taking several online courses over the years, but it was only when my girlfriend and I were discussing online classes did the question come up about cheating. How is the professor able to discern if a student is cheating or has someone else enter their work? What guidelines are used to find out? In a traditional setting, I believe that the professor could assess whether a student cheated or not by requiring students to complete classwork and hand it in at the end of the of the class, but the online professors, what measuring stick do they use?
