I am astounded that this article has only generated 4 responses in the 4 years since it was published. Does qualitative research offer so little value to the field of education that no one is bothered by the profound misunderstanding of its purpose?

Yes, it has been quite some time since quantitative research has become mainstream. But that does not rule out the possibility that insightful and practical applications cannot be found through other avenues of inquiry. How pitiful that new Inquisitors are now seated in judgment over what they do not understand.
