Read a Post for Education Myths: What Special Interest Groups Want You to Believe about Our Schools -- And Why It Isn't So | | Reply to this Post | | Greene's Agenda | Posted By: Rollin Nordgren on August 2, 2006 | | Jennifer de Forest's review of Greene's work is excellent pointing out the concerns most who read it would have, but she wisely--in my opinion--doesn't state the obvious: Greene has an agenda. His criticism of prevailing "myths" perfectly reflects the conservative education and macro-economic agenda of attempting to place all of education's problems on the backs of "lazy, bleeding-heart" educators while selling us the snake-oil which is privitization/marketization. One doesn't have to read between the lines to know his real intent. I do give him credit: he's consistent in his conservative argument. |
