|Dear Mr. Cooley:|
I am an elementary teacher with over 20 years of classroom experience. i am currently working on my Ph.D. in education. Your concluding paragraph hits at the core of most of the socalled education reform efforts that I have read about. You wrote, "...the best value in reforming schools will come from within the teachers and the teacher educators that train them." This raises a question. If this it true, then why are teachers so conspicuously absent from the national education reform debate?
