Read a Post for Rethinking Learner Support in Distance Education: Change and Continuity in an International Context. | | Reply to this Post | | West Indian Education | Posted By: Deborah Harrell on September 17, 2003 | | Have you found any trends in Cultural Diversity with various non dominant cultures from areas less recognized within browner races? For example, Florida has a large Caribbean population. Often, these individuals are grouped with African Americans and their cultural validation is lost completely. Basically white washed.
This has been my personal experience in Florida from teaching and lecturing on assessment and state testing at the Adult Education Center in Palm Beach. Do you have any ideas? I regret I may be the only doctorate that understands this diversity and cultural validation as it relates to motivation and achieving success with passing scores.
