- sounds likes a very thought provoking book
- hopefully teacher's college is focussing on a similar concept for training new teachers
- it's very safe to use the texbook as the main tool in a math program but teachers need to truly reach beyond this to help students grasp the concepts
- so many students memorize math steps but have no real understanding of what they are doing
- it's sometimes a risk for teachers to step outside "the box" with so much emphasis on covering the curriculum and doing well on EQAO tests
- I'm looking forward to using your ideas next year as I change to another grade
- reading your article made me feel excited about trying your ideas and I can visualize the interaction among students as they engage in higher level thinking
- I can also visualize the "lightbulbs going off" as more students begin to make sense out of the concepts
