Posted By: Sally Brown on April 9, 2001
Those who are interested in teacher preparation may want to check out a new report published Feb. 2001 by the Center for the Study of Teaching and Policy titled, Teacher Preparation Research: Current Knowledge, Gaps, and Recommendations. You can find the full report and an executive summary under publications at www.ctpweb.org The report summarizes what research has to say about five key issues in teacher preparation: subject matter preparation, pedagogical preparation; clinical training; preservice teacher education; and alternative certification. The report was prepared for the U.S. Department of Education and authored by researchers at Michigan State University.
