The aim of this study is to reveal the relation between the size of the local unit and its efficiency in performing three of these functions which are greatly affected by the size: (1) the securing of skilled and continuous educational leadership; (2) the economical use of the time of the leadership employed; and (3) the economical use of the funds spent for general control of the schools.
