The annual conference for leaders in supervision and curriculum improvement was planned on the principle that more good ideas are created, carried home, and put into operation when participants are actively involved in sharing and evaluating one another's experience. Through the discussion of problems, four basic ideas threaded their way—the importance of a favorable climate for growth of people, the role of communication in aiding better understanding among people, the use of time as a vital factor in cooperative action, and the place of community participation in curriculum development.
