Comprehensive Schools

This chapter describes various approaches to comprehensive efforts, and presents a typology that sorts the emerging models according to the degree of interprofessional collaboration. The chapter focuses on the full-services community school model using the Quitman Street Community School in Newark, New Jersey, as an example. Lessons about collaboration and interprofessional relationships are extracted from the experience at Quitman and at other sites around the country.
