I offer commentary on select chapters in this volume. I also present a model that extends this work and merges the needs of teachers, students, parents, and administrators so that it becomes more likely that schools improve, teachers are more effective and successful, and students learn what has to be learned. Fueled by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, it is time to build this integrated assessment system.
