But then again an emotion-centered curriculum cannot be like that. Although there are some specific social and emotional skills to be taught, there is such a variety of ways to teach them. In addition, the early childhood phase can be considered too soon for structured teaching of these skills. At this stage it is more important to create the atmosphere of emotional safety and model certain ways of responding to emotions. The very nature of emotions and how they operate in humans lends itself to a curriculum that is not fixed or stagnant.
