Intrator was willing to complete a study that many higher education researchers say they would like to do, but in truth, given the opportunity, most would turn it down. He visited a high school English class daily for one year to collect his data and develop his insights. This 170-page book provides both inspiration and practical applications for pre-service and in-service teachers, administrators, and higher education faculty who are involved in the preparation of teachers. It needs to be read at least three times. First, the reader will be eager to read each chapter to see what is happening in Room 36.
