She studies work/life issues in the academy, focusing on the intersections of individual experiences and organizational culture to interrogate the ways in which gender and other social identities operate on college campuses. Publications include Faculty Fathers: Toward a New Ideal in the Research University and “Neoliberalism Across Borders: A Comparative Case Study of Community Colleges’ Capacity to Serve Student-Parents” (with Rebecca D. Cox), which appeared in The Journal of Higher Education.
