cost of school board

Posted By: Jondi Gumz on July 3, 2003
Most school boards in California pay health care coverage for board members. In our community, this has been about $40,000 a year for 5 people. The board members also attend training sessions, which means travel expenses, and they do get a stipend for attending board mtgs. Then there are memberships to various organizations, so it does add up.
I know they spend many hours of their time, but so do parent volunteers, PTA officers, etc., who do not get free health care coverage.
