Teaching non-readers

Posted By: Cynthia Jackson on May 21, 2003
I have a couple of references as suggestions to you. "Working with Second Language Learners" by Stephen Cary is a good start to working with English as a Second Language Students. Janet Allen, Jeff Wilhelm and Chris Tovani all offer proactive methods for teaching students who are resistant, reluctant or those who simply can't read. I am willing to participate in a study group with any and all on ways that truly work to help middle and high school students learn to read and buy into reading. Cynthia Jackson
