We have a tremendous wealth of content knowledge, sometimes much more up todate than the current licensed teacher. In the field of IT or design engineering the high school students would benefit from the expertise and mentoring of these highly qualified individuals. To ensure that the profession is getting people who are committed and have a passion for teaching, the interview process should screen out the cowboys and the trill seekers. Good mentoring by senior teachers can help in preparing lesson plan and proper evaluations of student and course content. Bert |
