Read a Post | | Reply to this Post | | Replies to your question of how is it going? | Posted By: Clara Fitzpatrick on April 8, 2003 | | First, our Chicago district dropped the program that was successful ( the teachers had changed careers; the teachers went through a full student teaching and teacher education program; and the teachers have remained and been very successful, including NBPTS certified). Now we have real "alternative teacher program" of which my institution is not a part and about which I disagree. I am unable to support that because teacher candidates have content knowledge, they have pedogogical knowledge or pedagogical content knowledge that will enable them to help a diverse student body learn. What has been your experience? |
