I have no idea what rubrics or standards of grading the other instructors to determine a student's grade. I do have access to past syllabi but I find that my students are often shocked because of the standards I use to grade them. I try to leave as little mystery as possible by sharing my rubrics before the assignments. But they often enter the class with assumptions generated from their experiance in other writing classes. I don't mean to suggest that they are at fault. But how do we, as educators, consider these possibilities.
Thanks, PC
