I am a former student of Walt myself. I did a review of alternative assessment in 1991 when it was an emergine area of study.
Back then, portfolio only yielded stock or art portfolios! I think that you need to narrow the topic to authentic but I would start by
going to the library and reveiwing back issues of Educational Leadership to find out their latest Assessment
devoted article. They usually do one every year. Then read through the articles and look at their bibliographies.
That might get you going.
