As a former Parochial School Principal I can tell you that the School Board/Board of Education is comprised of volunteers and that there is no "cost" to there existence. There is no per diem fee, etc. On occasion, when the funds were there, the church would provide the cost of a workshop if members wished to participate. The Diocesan Board would also offer workshops, and they would travel to the individual schools and provide a workshop on a current topic. Some of the churches would provide an annual dinner to recognize the volunteer's time, etc.
