Dropout Prevention Specialist

Posted By: Tina Kissell on December 11, 2002
I think the position has been taken lightly for so many years, with the roles dispersed amongst many individuals-teachers, social workers, counselors, assistant principals. Having been trained as a school psychologist and counselor (now an administrator) and having worked as a dropout prevention person at a high school for a nine year period, the reality of the intricate set of skills required to work with students, families, other agencies, and staff in a drop out prevention capacity is monumental. Move forward! The program/licensure process would be fun to develop!
