Dropout Prevention Specialist

Posted By: Gerald Brong on November 6, 2002
Dissertation project sounds interesting. “Invasive testing” and “enforced standards” seem to directly relate to persons leaving school programs. There are a variety of issues at hand, including the ability of all persons to be schooled to a minimum measurable standard.

What would you, from your state level perspective, expect from a person that was a Dropout Prevention Specialist? Should this person also serve as coordinator of programming services for learners outside of schools - - learners that elected to become educated outside of the school programs?

There are significant issues here needing leadership. Quality-processes and quality-results will deliver learning but the roles of schools may need to be further defined.
