As research has shown, competition exists, has existed, and will exist in public schools until the funding of schools is based on a national or state calculation and redistribution of funds as opposed to local tax revenue. As it stands today, even in the smallest state of the union, Rhode Island, discrepancies between school achievement are tightly coupled with the value of homes in the specific district and thus the income of the homeowners. |
