* Re: Electronic Equipment does not

Posted By: Sara Khelghatian on December 14, 2006
I agree with you. I grew up in an age of spell check. When I first started teaching, I was amazed by how many words I spelled wrong on the board. I never had to be accountable for my spelling because I was typing my book reports in 3rd grade. I currently have 40 laptops in my classroom and it is amazing how many students have never interacted with a laptop. I went through extensive trainings in order to learn how to properly manage the equipment and teach at the same time. When I observe other teachers, I am always shocked how they just "throw" the laptops out and let the kids go. More often than not, this creates a problem in the lesson, disrupts the learning environment, and causes a disconnect between the students and the teacher.
