A Super's Lament ...
|Posted By: Virginia Stead on April 16, 2003|
|Once I'd stopped weeping, I remembered how clearly I knew that defiant kids are always protecting a family member. Often these parents or siblings are threatening suicide and the responsibility of keeping these people alive makes it absolutely impossible for the kids in question to feel anything but menace and fear. They're always very bright (in my personal experience) which is why the borderline personalities hook onto them in the first place, forcing them into emotional responsibilities that are years beyond their natural functioning. |
