Role models - case studies

Posted By: Mary Hall on September 2, 2004

Hi, Alexandra

I wonder if it would be useful to include some role models for your seniors - one example that comes to mind is the Jazz/Blues singer Alberta Hunter, who retired and made a come-back in her '90's! Sounded better than ever, too!

You might perhaps tie that in with the idea I saw in an earlier response about writing about their own lives to date, and visualising some of the things they have wanted to do, or enjoyed doing, but haven't yet done or would like ot go back to.

Perhaps a contributing activity could be to collect articles or references to other people who have done (are doing)interesting and worthwhile things at various ages and stages of their lives? Sir Edmund Hilary for example, is still involved in social development work in Nepal.

Regards
Mary
