"Czikszentmihalyi thinks there is too much emphasis on behavior over subjective states, on the quality of performance over the quality of experience."
I teach in teacher education and, drawing from my experience, I think most teachers would resonate clearly with this work, and recognize such involvement in themselves and their students, but do not have the tools to self-consciously implement into curriculum that is guided by heavy-handed top-down prescriptions and controls, high-stakes testing, and a focus on behaviors.
