The Organization and Administration of Teachers College: Organization of Teachers College

Teachers College, founded in 1888 and chartered by the Regents of the University of the State of New York on January 12, 1889, became, by an agreement dated March 22, 1898, a part of the educational system of Columbia University. The President of Columbia University is President, ex officio, of Teachers College, and the College is represented upon the University Council by the Dean and an elected representative of its Faculty. The University professors of philosophy and education and of psychology are members of the Faculty of Teachers College, and the College professors of the history of education and of the theory and practice of teaching have seats in the Faculty of Philosophy, and the professor of Manual Training a seat in the Faculty of Applied Science
