Guidance in Public Schools: The Work of the Placement Officer

It is estimated that two million youth reach the age of employability each year. At least one-third of them are unemployed and many of those who have been placed are engaged in vocations not suited to their capacities or in vocations which do not offer them a satisfactory occupational future. Educational and employment problems of these two groups create the most challenging situations which confront the guidance and placement workers in schools and community agencies.
