College News and Departmental Notes: Household Administration

During November there was held in Teachers College a meeting of considerable importance. Some seventy-five of the dietitians of New York City assembled at the College for the purpose of perfecting a formal organization. A second meeting was held later, at which Professor Rose gave a talk illustrated by stereopticon slides. The significance of this new organization is its very evident indication of the growing demand for dietitians, and the rapidly increasing number of problems that call for their professional attention. About one-third of those now engaged in this work in New York City are graduates of Teachers College; and in addition the calls for experts are three times as many as the College can supply.
