Recent Doctoral Studies: Educational Philosophy and Practice of Art Museums in the United States

Part I of this study traces the historical development of the educational philosophy of art museums from 1870 to the present day. Part II of the study brings to light current opinion and practice, placing them in juxtaposition with the ideas expressed by the spokesmen in the preceding section. Part III embodies recommendations for a revitalized museum philosophy and for immediate steps which can be taken to put that philosophy into practice.
