This project has been prepared in monograph form to help teachers in Canadian elementary schools to understand better the characteristics of a good elementary school, the modern objectives of education (emphasizing the teaching of arithmetic to meet these objectives), the arithmetic content for each of the six grades of the elementary school, and the personal and academic qualifications of an efficient teacher of elementary school arithmetic.
