The task of educating women is difficult. Woman's possible, and even imperative, patterns for participation in life are quite different from those which she has learned through observing her mother and grandmother. Added, therefore, to the objectives of understanding, operating, and directing social and scientific change is the necessity of understanding, controlling, and directing her own radically different kind of participation as an individual in the changing world of which she is a part.
