College News and Departmental Notes: Dean Russell Organizes Reconstruction Work in the Army

At the request of the Surgeon General of the United States Army the Trustees of Teachers College in May granted Dean Russell leave of absence to act as civilian director for several months of the Department of Education of the Division of Physical Reconstruction in the office of the Surgeon General at Washington. The task which Dean Russell was asked to undertake was the organization of a program of educational work for the rehabilitation of disabled soldiers in the reconstruction hospitals of the United States.
