    MELISSA JOHNSON is a doctoral candidate in English at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where her work focuses on identity politics and diverse representation in Shakespearean adaptations for young adult readers. She loves teaching and has had the opportunity to teach classes on Shakespeare, early British literature, science fiction and fantasy, and children’s literature. She has also trained as a classical actor and has performed in numerous Shakespearean and early modern plays. Her research interests include intersections between Shakespeare and children’s/YA literature and between Shakespeare and pop culture.
