Her research interests include gifted and talented education, secondary English education, literacy, and culturally and linguistically diverse learners.

He is the recipient of Early Career Award from AERA's Critical Issues in Curriculum and Cultural Studies SIG. Recent studies theorize curriculum as sociopolitical, cross-cultural discourse. His recent publications include Three Approaches to Qualitative Research through the ARtS: Narratives of Teaching for Social Justice and Community (Brill|Sense, 2019).
