    YOLANDA N. PADRÓN is professor at Texas A&M University where she teaches courses in bilingual education. She previously served as Co-Director and principal researcher for the National Center for Research on Education, Diversity, and Excellence (CREDE). She currently serves as Director of Faculty Development for the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). Dr. Padrón has worked extensively with schools and organizations that serve the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse students. Her research has focused on improving classroom and reading instruction for English Language Learners. Her publications have appeared in journals such as: TESOL Quarterly, Bilingual Research Journal, Journal of Educational Issues of Language Minority Students, Educational Horizons, Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Educational Equity and Leadership, Peabody Journal of Education, Research in Middle Level Education, Urban Education, and The Reading Teacher. In addition, she has been Associate Editor for The Bilingual Research Journal and served on the editorial advisory board of the National Reading Conference Yearbook, The Reading Teacher Journal, and the Journal of Literacy Research.
