Women have been in style for a long time. Their "life styles" have been particularly fashionable of recent date. This book is another attempt to explain female behavior. Wiser men gave up a long time ago! The original plan, of Columbia's Conservation of Human Resources Project, was to study both men and women, concurrently; to investigate "factors influencing the extent to which people with talent, after completing their education, actually do perform at a high level of competence." Unfortunately, the questionnaire designed for that purpose proved inappropriate to women. Hence, a separate study for the ladies. (The study of men, Talent and Performance. Ginzberg, et al. was reviewed in the Record, February, 1965.) Anyone who purchases Life Styles under the impression that the title is definitive is due for a surprise.
