Time Distributions by Subjects and Grades in Representative Cities

This report deals with the distribution of time by subjects and grades in the elementary schools of fifty American cities, representing all sections of the country and a wide variety of conditions. The outstanding fact of the report is the great divergence in the allotments—there is still marked disagreement as to the distribution of time (and hence of attention and energy) among the elementary-school subjects.
