The Training of Teachers in the Accredited High Schools of the State of Washington

There have appeared in the educational literature of the past decade or two many expressions of opinion of greater or less merit on what the character of the training of the high-school teacher should be. The Report of the Committee of Seventeen, to which frequent reference will be made in this study, is, without doubt, one of the best, if not the best, of these. But we have had relatively few statements of what the actual training of any large group of high-school teachers has been.
