Synergistic Evaluation

by Thomas J. Sergiovanni - 1974

This paper advocates an approach to evaluation based on humanistic synergy. Essentially this approach is a nonmodel designed to be used in conjunction with established evaluation models, such as, MBO, PPBS, and EBO or with homegrown evaluation efforts. Regardless of model origins or the specific structural characteristics of any given evaluation system, its effectiveness and acceptability to educational settings is determined by the extent to which it incorporates principles of humanistic synergy.
