The Public University Trustee

This paper will examine the historical undergirdings of the concept of the lay trustee, present a demographic description of the person who occupies the position of trustee, discuss the trustee's functions, and, finally, offer some observations as to how the situation might be readjusted to better enable the trustee to meet his full legal responsibility while increasing his effectiveness within the university's functions.
