Teachers and Boards of Education in a War Period

REPORTS FROM MANY COMMUNITIES INDICATE THAT school boards and teachers are experiencing difficulty in formulating a policy for education in this critical war period. At one extreme, we find certain school boards who seem to think that the teachers of the public schools are members of the armed forces of the nation, and that they are to be ordered Into any kind of community defense work which the members of the school board outline.
